Description

RELAX AND LET CHANGING FACES® TAKE CARE OF YOUR SMILE!

Here at Changing Faces® we meet people who suffer with dental phobia on a regular basis. Some patients are so nervous about going to the dentist that the mere thought of it sends them into a state of panic and prevents them from undergoing vital treatment. If you’re one of the many people who feel anxious about dental appointments, we can assure you that you’re not alone and we are here to help you through your treatment. Our sedation service uses sedative medication to soothe your anxiety during dental procedures and is most suitable for those with a genuine phobia that stops them from going to dental appointments.

We will only go ahead with sedation once we’ve discussed all options with you and have deemed it appropriate for your individual needs.

A qualified dentist trained in the administration of sedation or a consultant anaesthetist carries out our sedation service. We hold patient safety in the very highest regard and guarantee rigorous monitoring throughout the procedure.

At Changing Faces® we provide two levels of sedation to meet each patient’s individual requirements. These are intravenous sedation and general anaesthesia:

Intravenous sedation

This sedative is administered directly into a vein for minimal, moderate or deep sedation. It induces a dream-like, drowsy state through a combination of pain-relieving and sedative medications, enabling you enter a deep state of calm and relaxation throughout the procedure. You will still be conscious during treatment, but may not remember much of the procedure afterwards. We’ll also provide you with a local anaesthetic to numb your mouth and soothe any discomfort.

General Anaesthesia

This type of sedation allows you to be unconscious during your treatment, so you’ll be completely unaware throughout the procedure. It is carried out in a hospital setting and we usually discharge patients within two hours after the procedure, as they are admitted as day only patients. General anaesthesia can pose risks, which is why it is only used as a last resort in most cases.

Why choose sedation?

  • Feel secure and safe – our sedation team is fronted by a qualified professional who will monitor the entire process
  • Get your dream smile without any anxiety – you won’t experience any of the worries that usually put you off, such as the sound of equipment or the smell of the surgery
  • Use your time efficiently – often, we can carry out several treatment stages in just one session
  • Relax and let us take care of you – even during long procedures, you’ll forget about discomfort
